Community Center Dedication
The Community Center is finally complete! This day has been long awaited and now that it is finally complete, we are ever so grateful. It couldn’t have come at a better time during the heavy rains and for visits from Karen Community Church and APU. We dedicated the Community Center in a colorful, prayerful and celebratory style. The ceremony took place on June 29th, with the spiritual guidance of Reverend Mutuotah from PCEA Ngong. She led the Directors, members of the Kenyan Board, PCH staff, PCH girls, and the Joram GM representatives in a brief and impactful prayer and dedication ceremony. The event began with praise and worship led by our girls, Diana, Beatrice. The girls sang and danced with colorful ribbons. Kenya Board Member John Kanja led the music by playing his guitar. This was followed by a Bible reading from Reverend Mutuotah as she dedicated the exterior of the building, before cutting the ribbon at the Community Center doors. When the doors were opened, we entered in song and dance as we marveled at the blessing of the interior furnishings that the Center held. We all took a position and began a series of prayers for each item present in the Center. Reverend Mutuotah led a series of prayers as we lay hands on the walls, then the tables and chairs, and everything else in the Center. This moment signified how we do not take any item for granted. Everything about this project went through meticulous planning, provision, accountability, and thought. As a result, we have a marvelous building that meets so many needs and will result in so many sacred memories for our girls in the future. After the prayers, there was a brief sharing by Reverend Mutuotah. This was followed by brief remarks from the Director and the Board Members. Thereafter, the Contractor presented the Director with the Certificate of Completion to signify the official handover of the Community Center to PCH. The dedication was crowned by a cake made by our own girl, Cynthia. It was a beautiful day. We cannot wait for you all to come and enjoy this wonderful Center with us during your next visit.
