Candidates

We are privileged to have twelve candidates taking national examinations. Four of these candidates (Jackline Mutiso, Emily Kipiko, Veronicah Ndanu and Mopiyian Nayeiyo) will be taking the grade 6 national exam, known as Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) in order to progress to grade 7. The next group of candidates (Blessing Waceke, Mercy Faith, Mary Muthoni and Fransiscah Mbatha) will be taking the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) in order to progress to Form one (high school grade 9 under the old education system). Additionally, we have our secondary school candidates (Esther Wairimu, Sheila Moraa, Annserah Nyambura and Diana Asiko) who will be taking their national exams, the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) to determine their placement in colleges/universities. Most of these tests are taken in October and November. If this sounds confusing...it is! Kenya is transitioning to a new educational system where the primary level is kinder to grade 6, the junior secondary level is grades 7-9, and the secondary level is grades 10-12. In Kenya they don’t refer to secondary years as grades. Rather, they are referred to as Forms. We hope this makes it a little clearer. If not, we will try again in the next newsletter. We wish all our girls the best and encourage you to join us in praying for their success and prosperity.
