Mission Teams

There were two mission teams to PCH this year. The June Team was comprised of 22 members from California and Ohio. This team raised almost $100,000 for the Rehoboth construction project, took the girls to an amusement park and overnight field trip and took the PCH staff out for an appreciation dinner at a fine restaurant. Besides doing many fun projects with the school and orphanage children, this team delivered staff development for the Joram G. Academy teachers and provided computers, document cameras, projectors and new technology tables in every classroom. They equipped every classroom with electricity and WiFi campus wide. This had an immediate impact on the way instruction is delivered. Besides the University, the Joram G. Academy is the only school in our region to have such technology. This team funded solar hot water heaters for the two orphan homes and installed drinking water fill stations throughout the campus. The orphanage now have computers at the home, a new movie projector and a new DVD movie library.

The second mission team from Texas, headed by Debby Summerlin, U.S. Board Member, is at PCH at the time of this newsletter. The Team took the girls on a field trip into the Ngong Hills, organized fun activities for them, provided needed kitchen supplies, installed solar hot water heaters for the two home’s kitchens and funded the washroom project mentioned in this newsletter. Debby travels to PCH during her birthday and asks friends and family to contribute to her projects.
