CBC Curriculum

Kenya has been transitioning to the new CBC curriculum, which in January 2023 included the Junior Secondary School. This new education reform is similar to what took place in the US several years ago with Common Core. Students are required to be engaged in project based learning using cooperative learning strategies. The arts and computer technology is now a required subject area. Seven of our PCH girls are among the first students at the Joram G Memorial Academy to experience this change. Thanks to the 2021 Mission Team we were ready for this transition. Through their fundraising efforts there are new classrooms in the Larry Watson Learning Center with new furniture. We also have a new computer lab equipped with updated computers. Computer learning is integral in the new curriculum and therefore vital to learners.
