A Journey of Hope and Determination
We highlight the success of a girl who was rescued by PCH when she was eight years old. She was malnourished when she was rescued, and look at her now! Lilian now works as a nurse at the Kijabe Mission Hospital in the High Dependency Unit as well as the Intensive Care Unit. She is a testimony to what hard work and determination can do with the help of our donors.
Lilian was admitted to PCH in 2006 when she was just eight years old. She had lost her parents to HIV/AIDS in the small town of Rachuonyo, leaving her a vulnerable child in need of care and protection after her aunt mistreated her and threw her and her siblings out in the streets. She was very thin from malnourishment when we first rescued her. PCH provided her with everything she needed to thrive, and thrive she did. She was very determined to make something of herself. After graduating from our Joram G Academy, Lilian attended and graduated from the Kijabe Nursing School. After becoming a nurse, the first thing she did was to give back to PCH. She credits PCH for enabling her achievements and is a role model for the rest of the girls in the home. Lilian is now living her dream of being a healthy care worker and giving back to her community. What an amazing young lady.
