Health Care Available for the Whole Community
PCH has a Clinic that sees to the health needs of children from the orphanage and school and families from the surrounding community. The Clinic routinely provides general health screening and administers medications for common ailments. This is one way that PCH is reaching out beyond its walls to the benefit of all in the Matasia area. The Clinic Nurse, Moses Mbuthia, is assisted by his Lab Technician, Pius. Our Clinic is the only one for several miles with its own Laboratory to diagnose conditions, saving patrons the need to travel long distances to a hospital for expensive care. Orphans and students are provided free health care, while members of the community are charged a nominal fee to cover a small portion of the expenses to run the Clinic. On occasion, a team of doctors and nurses visit from the U.S. for more extensive screening and diagnoses.
